This blog is the closest I’ve come to keeping a journal, and what I’ve notices – in the two weeks I’ve been at it – is that it’s forcing me to pay attention to time passing; in effect slowing it down in a way. This has felt like a long 2 weeks and I’m glad. As cliche as it may sound, life really is short (I wrote and erased 2 sentences describing why I believe this to be true but I don’t think any of us are in need of convincing). Anyways this relates to fashion in a sense that being creative and self-expressive everyday by making deliberate aesthetic choices is also a form of enriching whatever time we have.
When I first got this top, on a huge sale at Holt Renfrew, I knew that even though it looked strange on the hanger it had potential. Its shaped like a straight, long top, with slits on the sides, and is neither a dress nor a blouse.
