[ Planting the Seed ]

Today’s look-of-the-day is an eclectic collection of natural fabrics and materials in earthy tones. The inspiration behind it was the newly acquired Eskadar necklace made out of Paxiuba seeds. Its simplicity and primitiveness give it an exotic, unaffected feel and I wanted to play on that. In effect, this quality established a thematic base for the look as a whole. I chose the silk Paul Hardy dress for its earthy shade of green and the loose draping silhouette. I love how its colour slightly changes into shades of purple when the light hits it – the same shade of purple as the Paxiuba seeds of the necklace. In the interest of adding more volume to the Paxiuba necklace, I layered it on top of my old Jarina necklace. I wanted the deep purple in the seeds to pop and for the necklace to be the focal point.

This look was about pacing myself and taking a deep breath.
