marc jacobs takes the subway

I’m out in New York right now and will post the pictures of today’s look tomorrow. This silk Marc Jacobs dress is what I wore to the last opera of the season, Maria Stuarda. I didn’t want to bother with the parking downtown, so my mom and I decided to take a subway for a change; hence the title.

On the walk over from the subway station to the opera house, I saw a huge flock of birds congregating on the grass by the statue and I thought it might make for a cool shot. I devised this plan to quickly walk towards them, while my mom waits for the perfect moment and snaps a picture of them sporadically, yet collectively flying off. Only I seemed to had forgotten one simple fact. These are Canadian pigeons and they apparently know their right to “lawful congregation.” No matter how quickly or closely I approached, they just kept doing their thing with absolutely no reaction to my presence. (lol) What was I thinking.

What I’m wearing:

  • Silk dress by “Marc Jacobs”
  • Metal/crystal clutch by β€œClara Kasavina” (last seen in Feb. 12’10)
  • Satin t-bar stiletto metal fringe sandals by “L.A.M.B”
  • 3 crystal embellished bracelets from “Club Monaco”

  1. You look beautiful as ever. May I ask a silly question? How did you manage to walk in those heels. I am taking the transit all the time and find it so difficult to walk in heels. πŸ™‚

    1. Well it wasn't too far of a walk and I'm very used to heels. I can run and jump in heels, which kind of shocks people sometimes. I think it's just practice really. The important thing to remember is not to keep your knees bent as you walk, because that puts a lot of pressure on you back and misaligns your body. Thanks for the question Trishna πŸ™‚

  2. Really funny story about the Canadian pigeons. I thought only Canadian geese are that way. πŸ˜€ Beautiful dress! I'm drooling over that clutch. (well, not literally..)

  3. You're adorable. I like your shiny, simple eye make-up very much. What kind of products do you use and how you apply your eye make-up?

    1. I'm sorry that I haven't answered your question yet but I would like to make a whole post dedicated to it. It will include pictures of the products and more. Thanks for asking and I'll try to post it as soon as possible.
